According to reports from the Magoffin Co. Sheriff’s Office, a man was arrested over the weekend after officials say he was holding a woman against her will with a knife at a Magoffin Co. apartment. Sheriff Carson Montgomery says a 911 call from a child, claimed a man had the callers mother held against her will with a knife. When Deputies arrived at Magoffin Manor Apartments, they report that no one came to the door after they knocked, but neighbors say there where people inside. After contacting the Landlord to let them (Deputies) inside, they found the woman and she reportedly had a few cuts on arm and neck. Upon investigation, Deputies found the man, identified as Pat Arnett, 25 of Salyersville, allegedly hiding in a closet with the knife allegedly still in his possession. Arnett was arrested and charged with 1st degree assault (domestic violence), 1st degree burglary, 1st degree unlawful imprisonment, 2nd degree disorderly conduct and menacing. Arnett was lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.
