On Tuesday, January 30, 2018 around 12:30 PM, the Paintsville Police Department received a call about a man and woman reportedly planning on robbing Speedway in Paintsville. According to Asst. Chief Danny Smith, a witness contacted them saying he was told by a woman at Speedway that the man she was with, was planning on robbing the store. When Police was on their wat to Speedway, the witness contacted them once again and said the man and woman had left and had parked their vehicle at the Budget Inn. Asst. Chief Smith said Officers then went to Budget Inn and made contact with the woman, but the male had went back toward the store. Police mad contact with the man at Speedway, where he gave them a false name and address. The man identified himself as Kevin Romans, which according to Police, that name had a warrant. The man was placed under arrest and when searched Police found a tin can that contained methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. The man was later positively identified as Raymond Roman, 44 of Meally. He was charged with Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree – 1st Offense (Methamphetamine), Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st Degree-1st Offense, Drug Paraphernalia Buy/Possess and Giving Officers a False Name and Address. Romans was lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center. The woman that had been with Romans, identified as April Timble-Trombley, 43 of Oil Springs was also arrested because she had a warrant out of Floyd Co. She was lodged in the BSRDC.
According to Asst. Chief Danny Smith Roman and Trombley was seen at the Budget Inn with 2 more individuals in Room 112. Police got a search warrant to enter the room and upon investigation located a man and a woman identified as 47 year-old Lorrie Burchett of Hager Hill and 52 year-old William Collier of Sitka. Police searched the room and found a metal container that allegedly contained drugs, money and scales. Burchett and Collier were both arrested and charged with Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st Degree-1st Offense, Drug Paraphernalia Buy/Possess and Possession of Radio that sends and receives Police Messages. They were also lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center. Assisting at the scene along with Asst. Chief Danny Smith was Officer’s Zac Mitchell and Brian Runyon, Sgt. Billy Ramey and Chief Mike Roe.
