14 Arrested in Martin Co. Drug Roundup

According to the Martin Co. Sheriff’s Office, at least 14 people are behind bars after a massive drug roundup in Martin Co. The Martin Co. grand jury served 33 indictments in the county with 27 of those being drug charges. Sheriff John Kirk says his department spent Friday “rounding up” several of those individuals. Sheriff Kirk says several of the charges stem from year-long investigations and undercover buys and he adds there will be more indictments in the future. At least 10 people were arrested Friday and four more people were already in jail.

* Jeffery Spence and Casey Spence, both of Tomahawk have been charged with assault on a police officer, theft, false reporting of an incident and criminal trespassing.

* Chester Spence, of Lowmanville was charged with trafficking of a controlled substance.

* Stephanie Howell, of Inez, was charged with possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

* James Maynard, of Lovely, was charged with trafficking of a controlled substance and persistent felony offender.

* Billy Perry, also known by Bill Jack, of Warfield, was arrested at the Dempsey Apartments. While serving the warrant, Deputies allegedly found 20 pills on Perry. Perry told deputies they were neurontin, a schedule 5 controlled substance. He was also charged with possession of a controlled substance and trafficking of a controlled substance.

* Russell Penn, of Inez, was charged with trafficking of a controlled substance.
* Jack Horn, of Inez, was charged with trafficking of a controlled substance.

* George “Mugsy” Chapman, of Warfield, was charged with trafficking of a controlled substance.

* Conrad Mills, of Inez, was charged with trafficking of a controlled substance.
* Kendra Carter, of Warfield, was charged with trafficking of a controlled substance.
* Rory Prater, of Lovely, was charged with trafficking of a controlled substance.
* Nathaniel Mynard, of Warfield, was charged with trafficking of a controlled substance.
* Jerold Castle, of Pilgrim, was also arrested.
