Sheriff’s Office Investigating a Vehicle Theft

According to a news release from the Johnson Co. Sheriff’s Office, on the morning of Tuesday, Feb 13, 2018 at approximately 10:00 AM Dispatch received a call of a stolen company vehicle from a business (A&A Safety) at Sulfur Springs road off US 23 in the Wittensville community of Johnson Co. Deputy Byron Fairchild was dispatched to the call. The stolen vehicle was a 2010 Ford F-250 OHIO Plate # PJS1558 with a utility bed. It appeared the keys were left in the vehicle and the suspect walked right up to the business shop and took the vehicle. At approximately 10:40 AM the stolen vehicle was recovered in a ditch line off of Lower Twin Branch. It appeared the thief got the vehicle stuck and attempted to pull the truck out using another vehicle. Upon investigation, it was determined that the suspect stole a Surface Pro laptop that was in a computer bag and multiple other tools some Dewalt brand that was inside the truck. Officials ask that if anyone attempts to sell these items to you, please give call the Johnson Co. Sheriff’s Office or if anyone has information on this case or maybe witnessed the driver of this truck, please call 606-789-3411. The case is under investigation by Deputy Byron Fairchild
