Officials in Pike County are fed up with the trash, and they’re hopeful that new rules about litter will encourage folks to put trash where it belongs. The Pikeville City Commission is considering passing an ordinance that allows the city to issue a warning to businesses that don’t clean up litter. If the trash isn’t taken care of within 24, they issue a ticket and a fine, and the 24 hour clock starts over again. The Commission holds a second reading on the ordinance next week.
