Kentucky put an end to any upset talk in Boise, Idaho Saturday, getting 27 points and a near-perfect shooting game from Shai Gilgeous-Alexander in a 95-75 pullaway win versus13th -seeded Buffalo. Gilgeous-Alexander went 10 for 12 and made both of his 3-point attempts to send 5th-seeded Kentucky, now 26-10 on the season, to the Sweet 16 for the second straight season. Kentucky, with their all-freshman starting lineup, trailed only once to the Bulls at 2-0. Hamidou Diallo also went off – going 9 for 12 from the field and scoring all but 4 of his 22 points in the second half. Diallo also had 8 rebounds. Wenyon Gabriel added 16 points and 12 rebounds while P.J. Washington had 12 points and 7 rebounds. UK will now advance into the Sweet 16 in the South Region, held in Atlanta, Ga. UK will face another Wildcat team in Kansas State on Thursday, March 22 @ 9:37 PM.
