University of Pikeville women’s basketball senior Jamie Castle has been named an NAIA All-American honorable-mention. The Salyersville native recently wrapped up a decorated career that includes being named the Mid-South Conference Freshman of the Year in 2015, a First Team All-MSC selection this season and now wrapping it all up as an All-American. Castle was also on the roster of the program’s first NAIA Fab Four team in 2016, but did not appear in a game due to a preseason knee injury. The setback, which limited her to just 91 career games, makes her stats even more impressive, ending her playing career with 757 points, 308 assists, 226 rebounds and 129 steals. Castle averaged 13.8 points per game this season, while also averaging 3.7 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 1.6 steals while shooting 44 percent from the field and 34 percent from behind the arc.
