According to the Martin Co. Sheriff’s Office, tips from the public helped Depuites conduct a drug bust at a home along Wooten Road in the Tomahawk community of Martin Co early Wednesday morning. Reports indicate that the bust happened around 1 AM. Deputies went to the home to serve a warrant on Charles Crum and they report that when they got inside the home, Crum took off running with something in his mouth. According to the arrest citation, Crum had a syringe in his mouth and was trying to light it like a cigarette. He then allegedly threw the loaded syringe into a room that an older woman stays in and the syringe was open and did not have a cap on it. Once Deputies got control of Charles Crum and placed him under arrest, they found a pill bottle on him that contained Suboxone. While Deputies were at the house they also arrested Crum’s sister, Sheana Crum and her boyfriend Shawn Harless. Deputies reported that both of them had Suboxone pills that were missing from bottles and both allegedly admitted to Deputies that they had taken some of the pills and sold them to a woman that lives in Inez in exchange for cash.
* Charles Crum was charged with the following: Tampering w/Physical Evidence, Possession of Controlled Substance 3rd degree – Drug Unspecified, Drug Paraphernalia Buy/Possess, Prescription Controlled Substance Not in Proper Container 1st Off, Failure to Appear, Contempt of Court Libel/Slander Resistance to Order
* Sheana Crum and Shawn Harless were both charged with the following: Trafficking in Controlled Substance 3rd degree – 1st off (Drug Unspecified)
All three people were lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center. The Martin Co. Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate this incident.
