According to the Martin Co. Sheriff’s Office, Deputies say a tip led to the arrest of a man and a woman on drug charges, after they were found passed out in a truck outside of the Brookshire Inn in Inez early Thursday morning. Deputies arrested Jason R. McCoy, 37 of Inez and Terri Sammons, 36, of Lovely, on charges of trafficking in a controlled substance, 1st degree possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Deputies said when they went to check on McCoy and Sammons, McCoy told police they were sleeping while waiting for a friend. McCoy said he did not have anything in the vehicle, but a K9 unit indicated possible drugs in the truck of the vehicle. A search of the truck found a Crown Royal bag that contained another bag that had 100 grams of meth and syringes inside that had an orange substance believed to be Suboxone. The substances were taken to a lab for positive identification. McCoy and Sammons were lodged in the Big Sandy Detention Center.
