The second inmate from the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center has been arrested and lodged in the Greenup Co. Detention Center. On Thursday, March 22, at 8:20 AM, Brian E. Olson and Jeremy Boggs were signed out by Johnson Co Jailer Doug Saylor to help work on a litter collecting detail on Kentucky Rt. 201, near the Sitka area of Johnson Co. When work was completed, Olson and Boggs could not be located. On Tuesday, March 27 KSP arrested Brian E. Olson in Elliott Co. He was returned to the BSRDC and in addition to his original state convictions on felony charges he was charged with 2nd degree escape. At the time of Olson’s arrest, KSP said Boggs was with Olson on Ison Road in Elliott Co. near Sandy Hook, but as Troopers approached both men, they took off on foot. Troopers caught Olson, but Boggs was reportedly able to allude capture after jumping over a cliff and was las seen running into the woods. Fast forward to Wednesday, May 9 and according to the reports Boggs was found at a home on Salyers Branch Road in Elliott Co and arrested. He was taken to the Greenup Co Detention Center. Both Boggs and Olson were originally in jail on charges related to parole violations. More charges will be filed against Boggs.
