* Univ. of Kentucky basketball fans waited patiently (for the most part) on Wednesday for 3 Wildcats men’s basketball players to make their decisions on returning to the UK team or remaining in the 2018 NBA Draft. Players had until the end of Wednesday to make their announcements on their decisions.
Sophomore Forward Wenyen Gabriel and Freshman Forward Jarred Vanderbilt have both decided to remain in the June 21st NBA Draft and will join teammates Hamidou Diallo, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Kevin Knox in the draft.
The Wildcats that many thought would be the most likely to stay in the NBA Draft has decided to return to UK for his Sophomore season. PJ Washington announced Wednesday he will return to campus next Fall and join a very talented team for Coach John Calipari. Washington shot 51.9 percent from the floor, scored in double figures in 23 games, and posted 15 or more points in 10 games. He appeared in all 37 games in 2017-18 and made 30 starts averaging 10.8 points and 5.7 rebounds per game.
