Reds Center Fielder Billy Hamilton did it all on Sunday, as Cincinnati ended a 13-game losing streak to St. Louis beating the Cardinals 6-3 on Sunday. Hamilton threw out 2 runners, then made outstanding catches against the wall in the eighth and ninth innings. He also tripled and scored twice. Reds 2B Scooter Gennett drove in two runs and the Reds capitalized on the Cardinals’ season-high 11 walks. The Cardinals piled up 10 hits in 5-plus innings against Anthony DeSclafani (1-1), who was making his second start since Sept. 28, 2016. Amir Garrett allowed an unearned run in the sixth and Michael Lorenzen pitched a perfect seventh before Jared Hughes pitched the eighth and ninth for his fourth save.
Cincinnati will have Monday off as they travel to Kansas City for a Tuesday, Wednesday match up vs the Royals, then travel to Pittsburgh Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Every game will be Live on WKYH 99.3 FM and AM 600 in Paintsville.
