* Trinity High School wide receiver James Quick was named the 2012-13 Gatorade Kentucky Football Player of the Year on Thursday. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound senior caught 82 passes for 1,333 yards and 14 touchdowns through 13 games and broke the state record for career receptions with 277. That despite missing last week's 21-14 come-from-behind victory over Scott County due to a rib injury. He earned First Team All-State honors for the second season and was picked to play in the 2013 U.S. Army All-American Bowl. His selection as the Kentucky player of the year puts Quick in the running for the Gatorade National Football Player of the Year award, which will be announced next month. Quick has not committed to a college yet, but has a slew of offers on the table from at least 18 D-I schools, according to ESPN.com. Along with Kentucky and Louisville, Quick has received offers from football powers including Ohio State, Alabama, LSU, Michigan and Oregon.
