UK Men's Basketball

UK 75 LSU 70

Well another game, another sigh of relief for UK basketball fans, as the CATS held on Saturday over LSU 75-70 from Rupp Arena. It got tight down the stretch as we've come to expect with these CATS as LSU's Anthony Hickey hit a 3 point basket, to cut UK's lead to 70-68 with 1:01 to play. Then with the score 71-70 UK, Kyle Wiltjer is fouled with 3.1 seconds to go and he hits two free throws to make it 73-70. Alex Poythress who played a wonderful game also hit two more free throws to ice the game and UK hangs on to beat LSU 75-70. Alex Poythress with his first double double and leads UK with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Nerlens was once again terrific around the basket. Noel had 10 points, 8 rebounds and 6 blocks. Archie Goodwin chipped in with 15 points and 5 rebounds. Ryan Harrow was the fourth Cat in double figures with 11. LSU's Anthony Hickey, the former Mr. Basketball had 15 points for the Tigers. UK is now 13-6 on the season, while LSU falls to 10-7.
