According to the Magoffin Co. Sheriff’s Office, a man was arrested during a traffic stop Wednesday after he was found with multiple drugs and knives in his possession. Reports indicate, Officers pulled the car over for not stopping at a stop sign. As the Officers approached the vehicle, they say the passenger Alvin Ratliff looked “very nervous and fidgety.” Ratliff was asked if he had anything illegal on his person and Ratliff then pulled a large switchblade knife out of his front pants pocket, along with a syringe and a set of digital scales. Ratliff also allegedly had meth in his wallet. Police said they also found two pill bottles in his pants, with a woman’s name on the prescription. One bottle held Hydrocodone, and the other held Xanax. Police also said they found a large hunting knife under the passenger seat. Ratliff was arrested and charged with three counts of drug trafficking, possession of drug paraphernalia and carrying a concealed weapon. He was lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.
