Officials at a Bank in Leslie Co said they have found “fake” money at their business. According to WYMT, the Hyden Citizens Bank made a public service announcement on their Facebook page Monday morning, warning people to watch their cash closely. The bank says movie prop bills are currently being passed as legal money. Officials said these “fake bills” look very realistic, but they do have tell-tale signs that give them away. On the front and back, the words “This is a replica” can be found in little banners. On the face side of the bill, it says “This note is not legal. It is to be used for motion pictures.” The bank recommends people in the area monitor every bill they get during the next few weeks and if you find someone has tried using movie prop bills, contact your local authorities.
