According to WYMT, the Martin Co. Sheriff’s Office arrested two people after locating an active meth lab in Martin Co. Officials say the discovery happened Tuesday night on Moore Branch in Inez. Reports indicate that the two deputies were at the home to arrest Joshua Vance, 38, on active bench warrants, but Deputies say they could smell what they believed to be an active meth lab. Vance and his wife Angela were both inside the residence and gave consent to the Deputies to search their home. Once inside, the citation states they entered the room with the lab and said the odor was so strong, they started to cough. Deputies had to leave the home and open the windows before they could go back in to finish the search. Once back inside the home, Deputies found a two liter bottle with several ingredients used in the making of meth inside. Both suspects were taken to the hospital to be decontaminated and then to the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center. They are both facing a number of charges including manufacturing meth and wanton endangerment of a police officer. The Martin Co. Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate this incident.
