A Floyd Co. man has been arrested for his alleged involvement in an assault while he was incarcerated at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center. Justin Slone, 39 of Garrett was arrested Monday after he was indicted on a charge of 1st degree assault in relation to an incident from October 2017. According to the Paintsville Police Department, in October 2017 Officers responded to a call from the jail about a possible assault that had took place between inmates. When Officers arrived on scene, they described a brutal and graphic scene. According to Officer Keith Maynard, the victim allegedly carrying drugs inside of his body. Two other inmates, Jordan Stampered and Charles Perkins allegedly helped Justin Slone attack the victim and held the victim down while Slone was using instruments to try and remove the alleged drugs he had inside of him. The victim was taken to the Hospital following the incident. Slone has been lodged in the BSRDC on a $20,000 cash bond.
