Several people in Paintsville are hoping to see a greenhouse built in the near future.
The Paintsville/Johnson County Garden Club is submitting a grant application in an effort to receive funding to build the greenhouse.
In a Town Hall meeting last month, Andrea Kennedy spoke on behalf of the garden club, saying that the garden club could save a lot of money on the repetitive costs of flowers if our city had a greenhouse where they could be grown.
The Paintsville Herald reports Lara Pack with the garden club included a resolution approved by the Paintsville City Council this week into the greenhouse grant application.
Paintsville Mayor Bill Mike Runyon says if the grant is obtained, the greenhouse may be built near the Paintsville Recreation Center.
As for the near future, the garden club is hosting a Home and Garden Show on Saturday, April 28th at the Ramada.
