A Williamson man was arrested Thursday in connection with a Martin County triple murder case.
28-year-old Lance Ward of Williamson, West Virginia, was reportedly arrested as a result of evidence presented to a Martin County Grand Jury on Thursday.
Testimony was given by the Detective leading the case.
The bodies of three people, 20-year-old Micha Sammons of Kimper, 26-year-old Dereck James of Huddy and 31-year-old Amber Lockard (also known as Amber Bates), were found shot on March 23 on a strip mine near the Martin/Pike County line.
Sammons and James were declared dead at the scene; Lockard later died of the injuries she sustained.
Lockard’s Chevrolet Trailblazer was later located in Williamson.
Ward is facing (3) counts of murder and (2) counts of robbery 1st degree.
He’s currently incarcerated in Williamson on unrelated charges.
