Five people were hit by a hit-and-run driver early Sunday morning in Chicago after the cab they were in broke down. One man died at the scene and multiple media outlets confirm the man is from Morehead (Rowan Co). The man’s name has not been officially released. According to reports, the Illinois State Police say the taxi broke down on Interstate 290, the Eisenhower Expressway, around 4:45 a.m., and the five people began walking up the Homan Avenue off-ramp. Police say they were then hit by a car that was exiting the expressway. Officials say the car did not stop. The other four people were taken to area hospitals.
