According to the Kentucky State Police in Pikeville, Troopers arrested a Floyd Co man Tuesday after he allegedly shot his own brother.
KSP Troopers responded to a report of a shooting just off KY 7 on Raccoon Road in a car wash parking lot.
When Police arrived on scene, they saw several people in the parking lot and asked where the shooter was.
Troopers report that Nathan E. Bartrum got out of a vehicle, put his hands in the air and admitted to Troopers that he was the shooter.
Bartrum allegedly told Police the gun, a .357 Magnum, was in the grass behind the car wash and he was placed under arrest.
Police found Matthew Prater, Bartrum’s brother, who said Bartrum had shot him from inside his car.

During the argument, Bartrum allegedly shot his brother in the lower abdomen.
The bullet appeared to go through his hip.
Prater was taken by Ambulance to an area Hospital for his injuries.
Bartrum has been charged with 1st degree assault and tampering with physical evidence.
