The winners have been announced for the 2018 Kentucky Elk Hunting Permits. The names were announced live from the Mountain Arts Center in Prestonsburg, who hosted the event. A record number of applications were submitted by more than 35,000 people from all over the United States and a total of 79,768 applications were entered. A total of 700 names were announced for the general quota elk hunting permits and 10 names were called for the youth quota. The Commonwealth Office of Technology conducted an independent drawing to choose the winners.
