An Ashland woman has been arrested and another person is facing charges after allegedly attempting to smuggle contraband into the Boyd Co Detention Center.
According to the Boyd Co Sheriff’s Office, Robyn M. Porter, 35, of Ashland, has been charged with 1st-degree promoting contraband.
Officials say the incident happened Monday when they saw a suspicious-acting woman crouched down next to an outside wall of the Boyd Co Detention Center and was sticking a tube filled with various items of contraband though the jail wall.
Another person fled the scene and Deputies are searching for that person.
Porter was arrested and placed in the Boyd Co Detention Center.
