According to the Paintsville Police Department, in the early morning hours of Thursday, June 14, Officers were called to Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center about a report of a man allegedly refusing medical treatment and then stealing a woman’s purse when he walked out of the Hospital.
Around 3 AM Police spotted the man, identified as 53-year-old Michael Jennings of Paintsville, riding a little girl’s bicycle on Main Street.
When Officers stopped Jennings, they found the bag of items taken from the hospital and noted the man smelled strongly of alcohol.
The man reportedly admitted that the prescription in the bag was not his and he had taken the bicycle from a home nearby residence.
Jennings was arrested and charged with DUI, theft of a bicycle, and possession of a forged prescription.
He was lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.
