Unemployment rates fell in all but three Kentucky counties between May 2017 and May 2018. Rates rose in Owen and Spencer counties and remained the same in Oldham Co. The average unemployment rate in Kentucky is 4.2 percent. The numbers come from the Kentucky Center for Statistics, an agency of the Kentucky Education and Workforce Development Cabinet. Woodford Co recorded the lowest jobless rate in the Commonwealth at 2.9 percent. It is followed by Campbell, Scott, Boone and Fayette counties. Magoffin Co recorded the state’s highest unemployment rate at 12 percent, followed by Elliott Co, Carter Co, Harlan Co.
