A Perry Co man was arrested Friday morning soon after robbing a Manchester Bank.
Officials in Clay Co said Robert Terry of Hazard walked into the Manchester Square Branch of First National Bank Friday morning around 10 AM and gave the teller a bag along with a note which said, “Empty the teller drawer in the bag quietly and no one will get hurt.”
When more than $3,000 was placed in the bag, Terry took off running into the nearby Walmart parking lot.
Police said a bank employee chased after the man to see which direction Terry was running.
Witnesses said Terry jumped over a guard rail, took off his hat, sunglasses, pants, and shirt then continued on foot.
Police would eventually locate Terry and arrest him. Police said he had a 25 auto handgun on him when he was found.
Police believe Terry may be connected to another bank robbery in Leslie Co.
Robert Terry is being held in the Clay Co Detention Center, charged with robbery first-degree, theft over $500, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, fleeing or evading police, and tampering with physical evidence.
Kentucky State Police Post 11 and Manchester Police are continuing to investigate.
