A Pikeville man was arrested Thursday after he allegedly tried to steal alcohol from the Walmart in Pikeville and then tried to get away from Police. According to reports, around 2 AM Thursday, June 28 Walmart managers in Pikeville reported that a man was attempting to steal a case of beer from the store. When Pikeville Police Officers arrived at the scene, they located 22-year-old Jordan Ramsey, of Pikeville, who was riding in a car on Chloe Road with four other people. When Officers stopped the vehicle and questioned Ramsey, he allegedly admitted stealing the beer and he was arrested, but Ramsey managed to escape one of the vehicles and attempted to flee on foot. Officers managed to catch up with Ramsey, but they had to deploy a taser and bring him under control. Ramsey was charged with alcohol intoxication, shoplifting, fleeing or evading police and other charges. The other four in the vehicle were also arrested on alcohol charges. The Pikeville Police Department are continuing to investigate this incident.
