A Floyd Co woman accused of murder following a December car crash, was allowed to go home to await her next court appearance. On Thursday, Kimberly Akers appeared in Floyd Co Circuit Court to answer to the charges of murder, assault and operating a motor vehicle under the influencefollowing a fatal car crash from December 2017. Kimberly Akers was arrested by the Floyd Co. Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday, June 26, 2018. Heidi Hamilton was killed in the crash, that happened on KY 979 in the Grethel community of Floyd Co. and Heidi’s fiancée was seriously injured.On Thursday, a judge allowed Akers to go home on a $50,000 bond and take part in home incarceration. Akers next court appearance is set for September 6th.
