University of Pikeville athletic director and head men’s basketball coach Kelly Wells is one of six inductees announced for Morehead State University’s Hall of Fame. The 1995 Morehead graduate enters the Alumni Hall of Fame as a three-year letter winner with the Eagles, scoring over 450 points along the way and earning 1994 Academic All-OVC honors. Kelly Wells is entering his 13th season as a member of the Pikeville staff as head men’s basketball coach and recently assumed the added role of athletic director on July 1. He is the winningest coach in program history at 287-102 with an NAIA National Championship in 2011. Wells is a native of Morehead and graduate of Rowan County High School. Morehead State’s Hall of Fame Banquet is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET on Friday, Oct. 19 at the Morehead Conference Center.
