Fundraiser with local music to be held at the MAC
Animal Alliance of East Kentucky will present the inaugural WOOFSTOCK showcase of area musical talent at the Mountain Arts Center on Saturday, August 18. The local non-profit organization provides education to the public regarding the humane treatment of animals and low cost spay and neuter services to Floyd, Johnson, Magoffin, and Martin Counties.

The benefit concert will feature some heavyweights of the local and regional music scene. Headliners Bek & The Starlight Revue will share the bill with Nicholas Jamerson, Luna & The Mountain Jets, Sean Whiting, Jen Tackett, Josh Nolan, and Chelsea Nolan. It is also rumored that there might be a Laid Back Country Picker sighting at some point in the evening as well.
Animal Alliance president Sha Reynolds invites everyone to come out and share a relaxing evening listening to great music – all while donating to a cause that’s special to her heart.
“The pet overpopulation situation has overwhelmed many shelters and rescue groups in the area,” she explains.
“We want to provide a way for pet owners to afford spay and neuter services,” she adds. “We are literally starting at rock bottom regarding this problem.
Hopefully, spay/neuter will become the norm for pet owners, and in return make this world a better place.”
