Four inmates at the Pike Co Detention Center have been accused of trying to start a fire. Jail officials did not give much information of why the inmates tried to start the fire last week but they identified the inmates as Scotty Gibson, Christopher Bales, David Pearson and Corey Thompson. Gibson was previously lodged in the Floyd Co jail, but was transferred to Pike Co after he allegedly killed another inmate. He is being held without bond on that murder charge. Christopher Bales is being held for the Department of Corrections, David Pearson has been in the Pike Co. jail since April for violating parole and Corey Thompson is in jail on a variety of charges including parole violation, terroristic threatening and assault. All four men are facing charges of inciting a riot and arson second degree. No further information has been released at this time.
