On June 16th, Johnson Co. resident and part-time worker at WSIP Willie Owens, sustained 3rd degree burns over fifty percent of his body when his riding lawn mower overturned and caught fire.
Willie has been a patient in the burn intensive care unit at Cabell Huntington Hospital ever since.
He has had both his legs and his left hand amputated and has received several lifesaving blood transfusions.
On Wednesday, August 15 there will be a Blood Drive in Willie’s Honor at the Highland Church of Christ Family Life Center located at 821 Euclid Ave. Paintsville, Ky from 12 PM – 6 PM.
This blood drive is in response to continuing offers of help and to pay forward the gift of life the American Red Cross has provided.
A large crowd is expected, so the ARC has setup online reservations if citizens would like to schedule your donation time.
