Work to fix an embankment failure will closed a section of KY 1750 in Johnson County most of the day today (Thursday, August 23rd), starting at about 8 a.m. The site is about a quarter mile past Conley Wrecker Service between Lick Fork and US 23.
Highway District 12 Superintendent Barry Spriggs said the drilling rig used to install railroad steel along the shoulder of the road takes up more than one lane of space. When the equipment is in use, traffic cannot pass through the work zone. “Unless people can wait up to 45 minutes at a time, it would be better if they found another route to travel today,” Spriggs said. “The contractor will be working at this site at least until late afternoon.”
Spriggs apologized for the temporary inconvenience. “We are doing our best to get breaks fixed before cold weather sets in this winter so that our roads will be safer and easier for people to drive on. We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding.”
