In a news release from the Johnson Co Sheriff’s Office, a Magoffin Co woman was arrested Wednesday after the woman reportedly drove her car while under the influence, then crashing into another car, which injured five people.
Arrested was Maria Crum, 43, of Salyersville.
She has been charged her with five counts of first-degree assault and DUI.
Deputies say Crum was under the influence when she crossed the center line on West KY-40 in the Oil Springs community of Johnson Co and crashed.
Deputies said Crum appeared to be under the influence of narcotics and they said she was in possession of a bottle of Gabapentin.
Crum was lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.
There has been no word information released on the condition of the five injured people.
The Johnson Co. Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate this incident.
