Two women were arrested over the weekend in Greenup Co and are facing several drug charges after being caught with drugs during a safety checkpoint. The checkpoint, which was conducted by the FADE Task Force, Raceland Police Department, Flatwoods Police Department and Worthington Police Department, was located on the Industrial Parkway just off of U.S. 23 in the Wurtland community. During the checkpoint, Officers approached an SUV with Michigan plates. Two women were inside the car and told Officers they were traveling from Detroit to Olive Hill to visit with family members in the area. During the stop, a K-9 with the Raceland Police Department detected drugs inside the car. Upon searching the vehicle, Officers found marijuana, illegal prescription pills and a large amount of cash. Arrested were, Heather Watts of Detroit, Mi and Taryn Allred of Mansfield, Ohio. Both woman are facing several charges including possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance. Watts and Allred are being held in the Greenup Co Jail.
