* The Univ. of Kentucky football team showed who the better/tougher team was on Saturday night in Lexington, as the Wildcats upset the #14 Mississippi State Bulldogs 28-7 to improve to 4-0 overall and 2-0 in the SEC. After a scoreless 1st quarter, Mississippi State QB Nick Fitzgerald scored the first TD on the night with a one-yard run with 8:42 to play in the 2nd quarter. UK would respond just before the half following a Benny Snell 1 yd TD run with 50-seconds to play in the first half, to tie the game at 7-7. Snell would add 3 more scores on the night, one in the 3rd quarter and 2 in the 4th quarter to seal the UK win. Snell finished the game with 165 yards on 25 carries and 4 TD’s and the CATS would outgain the DOGS 300 yards to 201 yards and UK racked up 229 yards of rushing, while holding Mississippi State to 56 yards on the ground.

* Following their 28-7 win over 14th ranked Mississippi State Saturday night, the Kentucky Wildcats have been ranked in both the Coaches Poll at #17 and the AP Top 25 also at #17. This is the first time since 2007 UK has been ranked. UK has started the season 4-0 for the first time since 2008 and the Wildcats are 2-0 in SEC play for the first time since 1977. Kentucky will host South Carolina Saturday at 7:30 PM on the SEC Network.
