Unemployment rates fell in 115 Kentucky counties between August of last year and August 2018, rose in two counties, and stayed the same in two other counties.
Kentucky’s August 2018 unemployment rate was 4.4 percent, according to the Kentucky Education and Workforce Development Cabinet.
That’s down half a percentage point from the 4.9 percent recorded for the state in August of last year.
Boone, Campbell and Woodford counties recorded the lowest jobless rates at 3.1 percent each.
Magoffin County recorded the state’s highest unemployment rate at 11.7 percent.
