* Kentucky’s football team improved to 5-0 overall and 3-0 SEC after a 24-10 win vs the visiting South Carolina Gamecocks. Kentucky got on the board first when South Carolina forced the Wildcats to a field goal in the red zone with 10:06 left in the first quarter, but South Carolina would answer nearly five minutes later with a field goal of their own to tie the game after 15 minutes of play. The CATS would get things rolling in the 2nd quarter. UK QB Terry Wilson would score on a 1 yard TD, UK RB A.J. Rose would score on a 24-yard touchdown and UK RB Benny Snell Jr. would score his 40th career touchdown from 4 yards out, giving UK a 24-3 lead at Halftime. In the second half, the offense would go scoreless, but the defense stepped up and only allowed seven points. For the game, the CATS “D” forced the Gamecocks into 4 turnovers in the game, 3 of them interceptions.
* The Kentucky Wildcats moved up in the weekly polls after their Win over South Carolina Saturday. The CATS jumped up to No. 13 in the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll and moved up two spots to No. 15 in the Coaches Poll. The Wildcats will head to College Station next Saturday to take on Texas A&M. Game time is set for 7 PM on ESPN and the UK Radio Network (WSIP).
