According to reports from the Pike Co. Jail, 2 women were caught on surveillance video allegedly trying to smuggle drugs into the Pike Co Jail. According to Pike Co. jail officials, video surveillance showed Randa Hamilton and Shayla Stevens trying to smuggle drugs into the jail from the outside. Upon investigation, Deputies found a string hanging from a hole in a cell wall and followed it to its source inside. One of the inmates in the pod area, Scotty Gibson, allegedly admitted to drilling a hole into the wall to retrieve the contraband. Jail officials also said Gibson had an accomplice, identified as Jordan Conn. Officials said they listened to the phone calls coming from the cell concerning the “drop.” Gibson is facing a murder charge in the death of a fellow Floyd County inmate Adam Potter.
