Residents in Estill Co are being asked to stay indoors and lock doors and windows as a search is ongoing for an escaped prisoner.
Officials identified the state prisoner as 31 year old Casey Myers.
The Irvine Police Dept. say Myers escaped custody following a hearing at the Estill Co Courthouse.
The Three Forks Regional said Myers slipped out of his shackles and ran off into nearby woods and was last seen entering the woods on Church Street.
He was last seen wearing a white shirt and orange pants.
Myers is white with short dark hair, a slim built and a tattoo on his neck.
Myers has convictions in Estill, Powell and Jefferson counties going back to at least 2007.
Most of his charges were for burglary and theft, but he also was convicted on a charge of second-degree escape related to a 2011 case in Jefferson Co.
Police ask anyone with information on the case or who spots the subject to call 911.
