A Boyd Co. man was arrested Tuesday afternoon following a shooting. According to the Kentucky State Police, a call came into 911 Tuesday concerning a domestic incident that had led to a shooting at a residence on Barbeque Road. Investigators say a son had shot his mother, who was taken to a trauma center in Huntington. The suspect was arrested at the scene, but charges have not been filed at this time. KSP says the suspect was a “transient” and was staying at the home where the shooting happened for at least a couple days. Reports indicated that while Officers were attempting to arrest the suspect, whose identity has not been released, shots were fired in the Officers direction and an Ashland Police Officer and Boyd Co Sheriff’s Deputy returned fire. Their names have not been released. Investigators are continuing to gather information. WSIP/WKLW news will bring you further updates, once information is released.
