According to WYMT reports, a total of six people entered not guilty pleas to smuggling drugs into the Pike Co Jail. The incident allegedly happened earlier this month and originally four people were charged with trying to smuggle drugs into the jail after video surveillance showed two women, identified as Randa Hamilton and Shayla Stevens, trying to smuggle the drugs into to the jail through a hole dug by two inmates identified as Scotty Gibson and Jordan Conn. Since the original investigation, two additional people have also been indicted in this smuggling attempt, Jeffrey Kimmel and Tyler Thacker. All six individuals appeared in court on Monday for arraignment and each pleaded not guilty to charges of organized crime, promoting contraband and criminal mischief. A pretrial hearing is set for January 25th at 11 AM.
