According to a news release from the KSP just after 6 PM Sunday evening (11-4-2018), Troopers at Post 09 in Pikeville received a call from Martin Co 911 of a single vehicle crash on KY Rt. 645 in the Inez Community. Upon Troopers arrival, it was determined that a 2003 Ford F250 operated by Michael Ferrell was traveling South bound on KY Rt. 645 when Ferrell lost control of the vehicle and veered off the South bound shoulder. Ferrell attempted a sharp turn to regain control of the vehicle and overcorrected, but the vehicle traveled off the roadway striking an embankment, overturning and ejecting Ferrell. Ferrell was transported to Highlands Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased due to the injuries he sustained in the crash. Troopers say at this time, alcohol and/or drugs are not suspected to be a factor. The crash remains under the investigation of KSP Trooper Holbrook.
