A Boyd Co woman was killed in a house fire in Ashland Saturday afternoon.
According to the Boyd Co Coroner’s Office, Dora Brown, 84, from Ashland died when her home in the 2700 block of Montgomery Ave. caught fire around 12 noon.
A nephew of Brown’s went into the house to try and save her, but he could not breathe or see through the smoke.
Brown’s two sons were inside the home when the fire started, but hey were rescued by two Ashland Police Officers and were treated at a local Hospital. Ashland Police Chief Todd Kelley said the two Officers were also taken to the Hospital for minor smoke inhalation.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and the investigation continues.
